Vinicius Junior has no interest in leaving the real Madrid this summer, according to reports in Spain, despite the imminent arrival of Kylian Mbappé.
The Brazilian bagged two assists in Tuesday night's thrilling 3-3 draw against Manchester City in the Champions League, which saw the 14-time winners level thanks to a sublime Federico Valverde volley.
Madrid will almost certainly add Mbappé to their ranks this summer on a free transfer, ending a six-year stay at PSG that looked likely to end in 2022, and as a result Vinicius' long-term future at the Bernabéu has been questioned.
It is still unclear what position Mbappé will play in at Madrid once he arrives, but logic would suggest he will be Karim Benzema's successor up front. Carlo Ancelotti has modified his tactics this season to cover Benzema's surprise departure last year, using Vinicius and Rodrygo as a makeshift forward duo with Jude Bellingham behind him.
Vinicius has been linked with a €200m move to PSG, essentially replacing Mbappé, while he has also been tipped to be on Liverpool's radar as they consider possible replacements for Mohamed Salah, who is wanted in the Pro Saudi League.
But BRAND reports that Vinicius, his representatives and Real Madrid itself have no interest in facilitating an exit this summer, so it is understood that the player is very happy in the Spanish capital.
The 23-year-old is said to love everyday life in Madrid because he feels “respected” and “loved” by everyone at the club, and feels that staying there would be the best decision in his career. Vinicius also signed a new long-term contract in October, signifying his commitment to the club and vice versa.
To add more weight to the idea of wanting to stay, Vinicius has previously spoken about his and his Real Madrid teammates' desire to play alongside Mbappé, saying: “Everyone here wants to play with Kylian. I hope that happens one day. One of the best players, perhaps the best.
Vinicius has contributed 18 goals in all competitions this season, including 12 in La Liga, and will have a crucial role to play as Madrid look to not only regain the league title from Barcelona, but also regain their status as European champion.
