Through the pages of Indiser Gaming, Tom Henderson has shared an interesting tip relating to upcoming games of the series call of Duty of Activision and Blizzard, who apparently will have one single-player campaign with open world structure.
This news also concerns the new iteration arriving in October 2024, the much talked about new one Black Ops set in the Gulf War. Going into more detail, Henderson says that the campaign will see the player and his team adventure together map in some ways similar to that of Far Crywhich would be a pretty big first for the series.
Again according to the insider, it will be possible to move using vehicles of various kinds, as well as take advantage of a fast travel function to quickly reach places already visited previously. Henderson, however, specifies that at the moment it is not possible to establish the size of the map and how the progression will be structured, which in any case should include a series of linear missions according to his sources.
The campaign, in development at the Raven Software offices, should see the return of some historical characters from the Black Ops genre, including Adler. Obviously, there will also be some multiplayer and Zombie modeswhich will instead be managed by Treyarch.
Will the next games in the series also be open world?
In addition to the alleged new Black Ops, Tom Henderson says that subsequent games in the series will also have single-player campaigns that are more open-world oriented and less linear than in the past. For example, the Call of Duty 2025which apparently does not yet have a main development team at the moment, should have a map divided into different biomes and locations, but clearly many details could change given that it is still in an embryonic state of development.
As usual we recommend that you take these rumors with a pinch of salt, as there is really nothing confirmed. It must be said, however, that Tom Henderson is considered one of the most reliable insiders in the gaming industry, so it is likely that this information will prove to be true.
In the meantime, Season 2 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone will soon begin.
