New calendar, same GPs
Formula 1 has announced its own 2025 calendarwhich has the same number of rounds compared to the current season, 24, but one different layout of some races to try to respect the month of Ramadan as much as possible in countries such as Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. For this reason the World Championship will return to open in Australia, which had no longer been the venue for the opening race of the season since 2019. By studying the dates of the individual GPs, however, we also notice another peculiarity presented by next year's programme: it has in fact been included a kind of 'double' summer breakcompared to the traditional closure of activities which normally only concerned the month of August.
Two 'breaks' in the summer, but how many triplets
This year in month of July three GPs will be heldwhile in 2025 there will only be two: the 6th of the month, at Silverstone, and the 27th at Spa. So There will be a full three weeks between the races in Great Britain and Belgium. Then we will return to the track on August 3 in Hungary and there will be one again stop this time for four weeks – the traditional closing times of the factories – before reopening the last third of the season on August 31st in Zandvoort. The double stop will serve to give the mechanics of the various teams a breather, above all, who will be engaged in a tour de force of 24 GPs and – at least – six Sprints which will last from 16 March to 6 December with five races 'back-to-back' and even three hat tricks: Japan-Bahrain-Saudi Arabia; Imola-Monaco-Barcelona; Las Vegas-Qatar-Abu Dhabi.
