CaixaBank has launched the first sign language interpretation service for your clients with hearing impairment. The entity has created the SVisual initiative, a solution developed by the CNSE Foundation to give greater financial freedom to these users who, until now, were forced to go with someone they trusted along with their manager to carry out the procedures.
With this service, both the client and the manager They will have a live video call with a sign language interpreter, so that communication between both parties can flow simultaneously and fluidly.
This project is free for bank clients and can be requested, as usual, by appointment. However, CaixaBank also explains that there is an emergency service in case this customer needs to go to a branch.
The initiative has been launched, through a pilot program, in a total of 120 CaixaBank offices in all autonomous communities and it is expected to be available throughout the entity’s office network in the first quarter of 2025.
Other initiatives
This incorporation adds to other actions that CaixaBank has carried out in the past in favor of financial inclusion in its offices. The entity claims to be increasing the number of ATMs with features such as high contrast, informative videos in sign language, voice-guided options for people with visual disabilities, easy menus, etc.
Regarding payment methods, since 2022 they added the card with Braille reading code to all branches, the first with these characteristics to be marketed in Spain.
According to CaixaBank data, 86% of offices are accessible, with measures such as the elimination of unevenness and the installation of ramps and elevators.
