Cacau Show receives green light from Cade to purchase PlayCenter

Cacau Show received the green light to move forward with its plans for PlayCenter. Almost two months after the announcement of the purchase of the park by the chocolate company, the approval by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade) was published this Wednesday (17) in the Official Gazette of the Union.

+ 'It's a dream come true', says Alê Costa after Cacau Show announces acquisition of Grupo Playcenter

The deal was announced in February. Known for its amusement parks, the Playcenter Group has been founded for 50 years and today has two business models in shopping centers – Playland and Playcenter Family.

Cacau Show has more than 4,200 stores across Brazil and seeks to diversify its business beyond selling chocolates at retail. And the purchase of PlayCenter is not the first step in this direction, as chocolaier Alê Costa's company recently entered the hotel sector, operating a resort in Campos do Jordão (SP), the Bendito Cacao Resort & Spa.

“During our first 35 years of history, Cocoa and chocolate have always been present in our brand and, now (and in the coming years), the time has come to emphasize our Show even more, which now goes beyond our product” , said the businessman in February, during the announcement of the purchase of PlayCenter.
