Taking advantage of the Black Friday sales, a user decided to renew his computer monitor to be able to play his video games with a better resolution. Specifically, he opted for an Alienware 32 4K OLED monitor, whose discount was about 300 euros. If before it cost 1,200, in these weeks it was offered for 900 euros.
However, this was not the only offer that Amazon applied to this product, since, without prior notice, it also applied a 2×1: instead of a monitor, this user, whose experience has been shared on reddit.com —and is picked up by the German video game news portal meinmmo—, received two for the same price (900 euros).
When he contacted the company, they explained that this was not a promotion or offer, but rather a a mistake. But, unlike what one might expect, the supplier did not require the customer to return one of the two screens, but instead gave it to them as a gift.
“Don’t worry about the item, you won’t be charged for it. Please accept the item as an early gift from Amazon. Hope this helps you”the company responded.
By sharing this experience on this forum, another user gave his particular explanation to what would have happened. According to this user, the company would have lost the first monitor during the shipment and, upon realizing it, they would send the second package at no additional cost. That is, it assumed the loss of the economic value of the first monitor.
The anomalous thing here is that, although the supplying company knew that the package had been lost, this was not the case, and finally both packages arrived correctly at their destination.
