The six million homes that use liquefied gas will not have service today or on November 21 and 29 and December 5, 11, 17 and 23
Areas affected by DANA are spared from strikes
The butane transporters’ strike heads into its second day today after the first stoppage, on November 5. There will also be no service on November 21 and 29 and December 5, 11, 17 and 23.
The strike has been called by the Spanish Federation of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Distributors (Fedglp) to pressure both the Government and the operators to review remuneration; That is, what distributors charge to bring the cylinders to homes, centers and businesses.
Due to the inflationary crisis and increases in fuel prices and labor costs, In recent years the operating costs of transport companies have skyrocketed, they say from Fedglp, without the Ministry of Ecological Transition having done anything to unblock a review “that has been paralyzed for ten years” and help a sector that they assure that ” works at a loss.
What the Federation requests from the Ministry is to update the system that regulates the price of cylinders to include a remuneration that makes a business viable that they claim is currently not viable.
The strike will affect the distribution of more than 150,000 butane cylinderswhich are those that are distributed daily in our country, although there are some exceptions. During this and all the remaining days of the strike, transporters will continue delivering to points of sale and to users in situations of social vulnerability, educational centers, health centers, social care centers, nursing homes, non-profit institutions and to all the areas affected by DANA, which two weeks ago devastated a good part of the peninsular Levant.
