The Business Coordinating Council (CCE) congratulated Claudia Sheinbaum this Mondayvirtual winner of the Presidency of Mexico after the election day of Sunday, June 2.
“The voting trends favor him for the Presidency of the Republic, as well as the governors, mayors, senators and federal and local deputies who are elected,” highlighted the business leadership of Mexico.
The businessmen also recognized Xóchitl Gálvez and Jorge Álvarez Máynez for their important participation and commitment in this contest. “As well as his vision to address and face the great challenges of our country,” he added.
The business body stressed the importance of national unity after the elections, and stressed that now the unity of all citizens who long for a better Mexico for all, free, democratic, fair, prosperous and inclusive, where differences are respected and we agree on essentials, must continue.
Unprecedented citizen participation
Mexican businessmen celebrated the “unprecedented” citizen participation recorded on this election day, estimated between 57 and 60 percent, which “shows that Mexican society is increasingly aware that its voice, through voting, “It is essential to continue building a solid democracy.”
The CCE also congratulated and recognized the electoral authorities, the workers of the National Electoral Institute (INE) and the thousands of citizen poll workers who made these elections possible.
The businessmen highlighted the efficiency and commitment of the INE in guaranteeing a transparent and reliable electoral process, highlighting its crucial role in the consolidation of Mexican democracy.
Commitment of the business sector with the new government
The Business Coordinating Council noted that, from the business sector and committed to the development of Mexico, it will work with the future president, as well as with the elected authorities in the three levels of government, federal, state and municipal.
“And in the Executive and Legislative powers, with complete willingness and openness to dialogue to continue building a strong economy and boost the growth of Mexico, generating investment and jobs for Mexican families,” he said.
Claudia Sheinbaum, the first female president of Mexico
Sheinbaum will be the first female president of Mexico in 200 years after obtaining between 58.3 and 60.7 percent of the votes in Sunday’s elections, according to the INE quick count, against a range of between 26.6 and 28.6 percent for Xóchitl Gálvez .
Meanwhile, Jorge Álvarez Máynez, Citizen Movement candidate, received between 9.9 and 10.8 percent of the votes, as detailed by the president of the INE, Guadalupe Taddei, in a message broadcast on the national network.
