The renewable company Bruc will invest 2,260 million euros in Andalusia until 2028, as contemplated in its strategic plan. Of this amount, 1,230 have already been disbursed to finance the development and construction of photovoltaic solar energy generation plants and another 1,030 million euros will be allocated over the next three years to the expansion of a generation park with a total power of 3,112 megawatts (MW).
Founded by businessman Juan Béjar, the shareholders are made up of OPTrust, USS and Interogo Holding. Luis Venero He is the CEO of the company. It currently has a renewable portfolio in Spain comprising photovoltaic, wind and battery assets for a total of 9,100 MW in operation, construction and development.
Andalusian bet
In Andalusia it has in operation 13 floors of photovoltaic solar generation, totaling 795 MW. These facilities are located in the provinces of Seville (10), Huelva (2) and Cádiz (1).
Additionally there is building another 17 plants with a combined power of 850 MW in those same provinces, and also projects in Malaga. To this park in operation and construction are added another 33 projects in the development phase (1,467 MW), which include the hybridization of plants with solar energy and battery storage.
These plants represent the creation of 1,652 jobs qualified and contribute to the reindustrialization of the territory, on the one hand, and to the generation of economic activity in sparsely populated rural areas, on the other.
Andalusia, the company assures, is a priority community for Bruc. Among its portfolio of assets is the Don Rodrigo node, with 400 kilovolts (kV) and an energy evacuation capacity of 1,000 MW, the largest renewable generation node exclusive to the community.
800,000 homes
In 2028, with all plants in operation, BRUC expects to produce annually 3.02 terawatt hours (TWh)the consumption of nearly 800,000 homes, 25% of Andalusian homes. This production will ensure the supply of electricity for the community and will make it one of the first exporters to the rest of Spain.
This commitment to sustainability through the development of clean energy is best expressed in its contribution to the fight against climate change. In 2028 the BRUC park in Andalusia will avoid the emission of 824,705 tons of carbon dioxide.
