If you like a good attachment, Strasse Wheels now has something for you in the range.
The magical world of car tuning continues to amaze. Maybe it's not as fun as vruuuugah here either. As a very young jaapiyo there were still lengthy books to read called Auto Zubehör Catalog 1996 showing what was available per brand. Golfs from Projectzwo or Oettinger, Porsches from Strosek, Fiat Unos from Novitec and a lot of even more obscure stuff. Good for hours of browsing the grass.
These days tuning is mainly a chippie, or very extreme and expensive like with Mansory. Novitec still exists, but they haven't made Fiats for a long time. They only abuse bleppers. More demand and more margin. Anyway, it still exists, it's just a bit stripped down. And there are some newer players that you may not be as familiar with.
Rims are of course still an easy way to modify a car. As @willeme always says factory rims are usually less premium than before. It now often no longer comes from BBS, Fuchs or Ronal, but from a nondescript factory somewhere in Turkey. Cast stuff, bicolor to give it some cachet, but not always of good quality (too heavy, too weak).
Of course, it only becomes truly premium with forged rims. And even more premium with carbon rims. However, the latter are extremely expensive. And carbon has that other well-known disadvantage. If it breaks, you can write it off. At such a moment you don't shout 'carbon' but rather 'cabron'.
Now I personally find (well-woven) carbon more handsome than beautiful. But what if you really think carbon is the most beautiful thing in the world, have a carbon bathroom with a matching toilet at home and also want to give your wheels the carbon look without buying carbon wheels? Well, for this common scenario, Strasse Wheels has the solution.
With the SV10M Deep Concave FS they offer a forged alloy wheel which you can then cover with custom-made carbon attachments. Preeeeeemium. Your wheel may not be made of carbon, but it is light and premium. And it looks like it is made of carbon. It is, in other words, the equivalent of sticking a Mercedes S600 badge on a Mercedes S500. You already had something cool and now you make it even cooler. Or not, depending on who you ask. The standard wheel costs $2,750 each for a 20″ unit. Then there are the attachments. Then buy?
