The airline Gol canceled its round-trip flights at Argentine airports next Wednesday (24), as a result of the general strike announced by the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) in that country, last December, for that date. The measure was taken considering that the strike will affect the entire airport operation in the cities where Gol operates (Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Mendoza and Rosário), making flights impossible.
The largest trade union group in Argentina, the CGT announced at the end of December last year a general strike against the economic measures announced by President Javier Milei. Scheduled for the 24th of this month, the strike will see a large protest in front of the National Congress. The CGT will also speak out against the dismissal of around 7 thousand public servants and also against the privatization process of state-owned companies, announced by Milei.

In a note distributed this Friday (19) to the press, Gol informed that all its customers will have their flights rescheduled to other dates and will be able to make the change free of charge, and may also request a full refund, according to the wishes of each passenger.
“Customers with tickets booked for this date are receiving communication via 'email' and SMS, according to the data provided at the time of purchase, and can now self-manage their tickets on Gol's Digital Channels”, says the note. To serve affected customers, extra operations were created by Gol for the 25th and 26th of January.
Also due to the national strike announced for January 24th in Argentina, Latam Airlines reported on “X”, formerly “Twitter”, that it is offering alternatives so that passengers with flights on that date can make changes to their trip. Among them, the passenger can reschedule the ticket, at no additional cost, up to 15 days after the original travel date. Another option would be a refund, that is, the return of the ticket, at no additional cost. According to Latam, the 'status' of the flight can be checked on its email address
