Guadalajara, Jalisco.- Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez is the only professional boxer with four successful defenses, the most recent on May 4 at the T-Mobile Arena against Jaime Munguía.
The reigning 168-pound champion defeated a ‘Tanaka’ Munguía by unanimous decision, who lived up to what we could expect in a Mexican duel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

While taking a few weeks off, Saúl Álvarez gave an interview to Caras magazine to proclaim himself the best boxer today, although he recognizes that there are other boxers who give their best to be champions.
«I have declared myself the best fighter of the moment because I believe in my abilities and my hard work. However, I also know that boxing is always evolving and there is always someone training hard to be the next champion. “I welcome the challenge and look forward to seeing who will rise,” he noted.
In the same talk, Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez spoke about his last confrontation against Jaime Munguía, which reminded him of the reasons that make him love this discipline.
To conclude, the Guadalajara champion shared what he will do after retaining the unified titles (WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF) of the super middleweight.
«I will continue to train hard, face new challenges in boxing and business, and I will continue to work on my skills. “There is always more to achieve and I am excited for the future.”
