After deactivating a car bomb on the Luhansk-Krasnodon road in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), which is used by refugees to travel to Russia. “After the car was blown up, a crater with a diameter of about 40 m remained in place. Preliminary estimates of specialists indicate that the vehicle was equipped with a radio-controlled explosive charge,” the MGB website said in a statement.
It is specified that the car found 500 meters from Samsonovka was stuffed with “an explosive with a capacity of about 200 kg in TNT.”
“Given the amount of explosives and the proximity of important infrastructure, as well as the danger to the civilian population, the task force decided to clear the car by blowing it up at a safe distance,” the MGB explained.
The ministry emphasized that the explosion of this device threatened the lives of evacuated citizens following in a convoy along the highway. In particular, women and children who were supposed to be evacuated to the Russian Federation an hour after finding the car.

Viktor Vodolatsky, First Deputy Head of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, said on February 19 that about 36,000 residents of Donbass arrived in the Rostov Region after the start of the evacuation of citizens of the republics to the Russian Federation.

The self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic reported heavy shelling by Ukrainian security forces, including with heavy weapons.
