(Reuters) – President Jair Bolsonaro admitted to having spoken briefly with the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes during a dinner in honor of the minister of the court Gilmar Mendes, at the residence of the president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (PP-AL) , last Wednesday.
In an interview with Programa 4 x 4, broadcast on his social networks, Bolsonaro said that it was a reserved conversation of 5 minutes.
“He spoke 90%, I spoke 10%,” Bolsonaro said, without detailing the content of the conversation, adding that he intends to speak with the minister again.
“I told him: ‘let’s talk next week with more time’. It can be anywhere… To see if an understanding is reached, to see if I can understand him and he understands me too”, added the president.
Moraes, who is the rapporteur of several inquiries against Bolsonaro in the Supreme Court and will preside over the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) during the elections, has been a constant target of the president’s attacks against ministers at the top of the Judiciary.
