The Ministry of the Presidency, the CCOO and UGT unions and the employers’ association have joined forces this Wednesday to disseminate in Spain and Portugal the “ample opportunities” of Castilla y León to host business, work and life projects and to promote the “great achievements” of the Community “a reference in a multitude of economic sectors.”
As stated by the Ministry of the Presidency after the signing of the new General Protocol of Action between the General Administration of the Community and the economic and social agents, it is a “firm declaration of intent” to collaborate together in a series of initiatives to disseminate “the great achievements” of Castilla y León, its companies, its workers and its inhabitants.
In this sense, they have claimed Castilla y León as an autonomous community “reference in many economic sectors” on the rise at a global level, such as aerospace, pharmaceuticals, cybersecurity, automotive or biomedicine.
“With this new protocol we want to do justice to the fruits of the efforts of the people of Castile and Leon who have placed this land at the forefront of the most modern and socially most demanded economic sectors,” explained the advisor to the Presidency, Luis Miguel González. Gago, who has defended that The initiatives will encourage the return of talent who has left the Community in search of a vital project “and who, perhaps, is not aware of the bright future of Castilla y León in the most promising areas.”
Among the initiatives, the Protocol signed today provides for the holding of meetings or visibility events for Castilla y León both in the community and in other autonomies and in Portugal.
To this end, the signatory parties have committed to support and advise entrepreneurs, companies and workers who are interested in settling in Castilla y León and creating guides and dissemination campaigns on financial aid and lines of support to promote the establishment and growth of companies, the promotion of self-employment and employment, on-the-job training or the acquisition or rental of housing for people who want to settle in the Community, particularly for Castilian and Leonese residents abroad who are considering their return.
They will also report on the benefits and services to citizens that the Community has (education, health, social services) or the circumstances of stability that occur (such as the framework of social dialogue) and the Board will collaborate in the implementation of each of these activities, which will be organized and detailed individually in the future within the framework of this protocol.
González Gago has admitted that the strengths of Castilla y León in these and many other areas and sectors are not always known by companies, workers or public opinion, which is why he regretted that they do not have the attention or recognition they deserve.
“It follows that the room for maneuver is still very wide to continue attracting, retaining and recovering all that talent that is not always aware of the enormous possibilities that the Community offers to those who decide to establish themselves in it and deploy their full professional potential,” he defended after signing this new protocol with the regional general secretary of the CEOE, María Teresa Cetulio, the regional secretary of Public Policies and Social Dialogue of CCOO, Saturnino Fernández, and of Union Action of UGT, Raúl Santa Eufemia.
The representative of CEOE Castilla y León has highlighted that this protocol will allow “identify synergies and concrete opportunities” with business sectors from the rest of Spain and Portugal and explore investment possibilities in the Community. Cetulio has been convinced that these types of initiatives help generate wealth and employment in Castilla y León and project the potential of the regional business fabric.
For his part, Fernández has stressed the importance of the joint action of the most representative trade union and business organizations and the institutional participation of the autonomous government “to continue reaching important agreements for the Community” and has recognized the “positive” initiative of the Ministry of the Presidency with the implementation of the new protocol.
Santa Eufemia has also valued the “proactive consensus” materialized through this protocol “that is carried out by and for citizens and that “It will especially promote the attraction, anchoring and return of the population to Castilla y León” and has reiterated UGT’s desire for dialogue with all the ministries “to disseminate, within the framework of this protocol or any other agreement, the autonomous reality beyond its territorial limits.”
