Starting line for the 2024 edition of SciAbile, a pioneering project born in 2003 with the aim of promoting winter sport among people with disabilities. Through the collaboration with the Sauze Project ski school, BMW Italia has contributed to creating an inclusive environment where athletes can develop their skiing skills, overcome barriers and enjoy the freedom and excitement that only the mountains and sport can offer .
On the snow of Sauze d'Oulx
The inauguration of the new season, organized on the snows of Sauze d'Oulx, was an opportunity to witness the progress made by the project and to share the inspiring stories of all the people involved, teachers and athletes. The number of hours of ski lessons provided since the start of the activities now amounts to over 16 thousand, with more than 1,700 students involved. SciAbile's activity is constantly evolving and from year to year it has seen an increase in the number of participants, specific equipment, specialized ski and snowboard instructors, free transport and above all the hours of lessons held in the field. A project that started with a few dozen students and which in recent seasons has seen more than 200 people join each season, some coming from abroad, who have received specific courses for each type of disability (physical and motor, sensorial, intellectual -relational).

Two friends of SciAbile did not fail to support the project and their presence at the media event: Emiliano Malagoli, Paralympic pilot and founder of the non-profit organization Di.Di. Differently Disabili and Carlotta Visconti, who has been attending the SciAbile project since the beginning of this adventure. “Modern companies must return value to society and be able to offer answers to the main contemporary issues,” explains BMW Italia. “With the SpecialMente corporate social responsibility project, and in particular with SciAbile, for over twenty years we have been offering a concrete example of how the issue of disability and inclusion can be addressed starting from the great teachings of our brand ambassador Alex Zanardi , who has been one of the promoters of the Sauze d'Oulx ski school since the beginning”.
