Game Science has published Black Myth: Wukong Final Trailerwhich comes just a few days before the game’s official launch on PC and PS5, set for August 20, while the Xbox Series X|S version will arrive later.
The video is an effective summary of what the Black Myth: Wukong experience will be, introducing us to the suggestive setting that we will have the opportunity to explore during the campaign and to the many creatures that we will find ourselves dealing with, in one way or another.
The sequences include several previously unseen scenes and a truly amazing amount of fighting, on both sides, with an emphasis on the spectacular effects guaranteed by the use of sophisticated UnrealEngine 5.
The feeling is that the action RPG developed by Game Science still has many secrets to reveal, and we can’t wait to try this promising experience to frame it more precisely: is this a real soulslike or not?
From myth to game
Already leading the Steam pre-order charts, Black Myth: Wukong draws clear inspiration from the Chinese classic “Journey to the West” and its characters, particularly the monkey king Sun Wukong.
It is obviously about a narrative basis that many have drawn upon over the yearsand with great success (just think of a certain Son Goku, but the examples are truly numerous), but we have the feeling that Game Science has done it with even more conviction.
