White House: Biden will call G7 leaders and Zelensky on the Ukrainian issue
United States President Joe Biden plans to call on Saturday, February 24, with the leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) countries, as well as Vladimir Zelensky, to discuss further support for Ukraine and pressure on Russia. This was discussed in the White House, writes RIA News.
“On Saturday, the President will take part in a video conference with the rest of the G7 leaders and Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss continued support for Ukraine,” the statement said.
Also, as part of the conversation, the American president intends to discuss “general steps to continue to hold Russia accountable.”
Earlier it was reported that the G7 countries would not introduce restrictive measures against Russia this week. At the same time, they will likely come out with a call to tighten existing sanctions.
It was also reported that on February 24, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will hold a telephone conversation with the leaders of the G7 countries, who intend to promise him increased military assistance, as Kyiv faces a shortage of artillery.
