Biden refused to allow Kyiv to join NATO after the end of the conflict
Ukraine may remain outside NATO, but the US will continue to supply it with weapons. US President Joe Biden denied Kyiv accession to the North Atlantic Alliance in an interview Time.
“Peace in Ukraine should look like such that Russia never occupies Ukraine. This does not mean that they should become part of NATO. This means that we have the same relationship with them as with other countries to which we supply weapons so that they can defend themselves in the future,” the American leader said.
The head of the White House recalled that he had previously opposed the “NATOization” of Ukraine.
The American president also said that he does not consider Moscow’s proposal to end the conflict in Ukraine the best option for Kyiv.
