Betis condemns what happened in the suspended cup derby

Betis issued an official statement through its social networks to condemn what happened in the Copa del Rey derby, which was suspended in the 39th minute after a fan threw a stick that hit the Sevilla player Joan Jordán. “Real Betis Balompié strongly condemns the throwing of an object onto the field of play during the Copa del Rey match. The club has immediately collaborated with the National Police to identify the alleged perpetrator of the throwing, to whom it would be applied with the maximum rigor the disciplinary regulation of the entity”.

In turn, it was clear about the intentions that the Verdiblanco team had regarding the continuation of the rest of the duel after that violent act: “The intention of Real Betis Balompié has been at all times to resume the match and they hope to finish it as soon as possible”. In this way, the Verdiblanco club awaits the decisions of the competent bodies to know when the rest of the match will be played. The intention is for the event to be held tomorrow at a different time from the Spanish Super Cup final, although both Betis and Sevilla must make a statement.
