Straight to work
Time to land and recover from the tiring weekend of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, which ended in 7th place with a performance worthy of 'Driver of the Day', which Oliver Bearman he's back on track. The Briton, who replaced Carlos Sainz with a splendid performance in his first ever F1 race, is today at Fiorano to complete other tests.
Scheduled tests
In this case, thanks to a short film published by Ferrari via its official social channels, the young Englishman completed several laps at the wheel of the F1-75i.e. the single-seater designed by the Red Team for the 2022 season. A session that falls within regular testing schedulebut which has already sparked some suspicion.
Still with Ferrari in Australia too?
It is possible that the 18-year-old could be selected again should Carlos Sainz not recover in time for the Australian GP? The appointment, scheduled for next week, is not in fact in the ideal geographical area for the Spaniard, who underwent surgery last weekend to remove his appendicitis. The flight to Melbourne is one of the longest of the entire season, which is why it is advisable to go early to make up for the time difference. Ferrari, as indicated by Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur, will have to take one decision early next week on the presence or absence of Sainz. In case of absence, Bearman could take part in another GP, but his participation is also highly doubtful: in fact, the third round of Formula 2, a championship in which the Englishman plays. Having lost precious points in Saudi Arabia to land in F1 (given that the regulations prohibit participation in two different championships in a single weekend), the Briton could return to his category at the wheel of Prema. In that case, the other two Ferrari reserve drivers would then be alerted: Antonio Giovinazzi and Robert Shwartzman.
