Among the new features presented during the Summer Game Fest was Battle Aces, a strategic one focused on use of combat robots which has the feature of being based on very fast clasheswhich can last less than ten minutes.
This represents a bit of a recent trend in strategy design: some developers try to go back to the essentials and offer more direct action, and the new Uncapped Games team seems to have succeeded with this new title.
Battle Aces, presented during tonight’s event, is an RTS focused on the use of presets and a particularly dynamic and fast control system.
Straight to the point, in the heart of the action
As can be seen in the first gameplay video, the battles in Battle Aces are decidedly quick.
The “Unit Deck” system allows players to choose between several previously established presets, so they already have a pre-established loadout of units and bases before entering battle.
Through this solution, in the game we immediately find ourselves in the action, which is what the Uncapped Games team tries to propose with this new RTS: once all the accessory parts have been removed, it’s a matter of immediately getting into the heart of the battle.
The result is interesting, also due to the large quantity of units that crowd the screen and give life to truly epic and spectacular battles, with the possibility of 1v1 and 2v2 multiplayer in matches that can last less than ten minutes each. There’s no release date for Battle Aces yet, but one should be coming closed beta during 2024.
