Karhu Basket sought an away win from Helsinki.
Men's Basketball League last spring's finalists Helsinki Seagulls and Kauhajoen Karhu Basket now faced each other already in the semi-finals, where all games have ended in away wins. On Wednesday, it was Karhu Basket's turn to claim victory in Helsinki with the score 84–81.
Karhu now leads the semifinal series 2–1. The fourth game will be played on Saturday at Kauhajoki.
The biggest turning point in the game came at the end of the third period and the beginning of the fourth Topias Palmin after a three-pointer, the visitors took a nine-point lead, which the Seagulls countered with a 14–0 win. The Seagulls led 79–77 at the start of the last minute, but the Bear won the end 7–2.
“Someone should probably start winning at home in this series. We had the right attitude, especially in the first half, when we took a lot of offensive rebounds. We could have taken a fair lead, but the losses were unfortunate”, said Karhu Basket's coach Janne Koskimies In Ruuttu's TV interview.
Palmi scored 20 points for the winners and Samuel Givens mixed Kristian Sjölund both from the 14th Seagulls Shavon Coleman made his Korisliiga point record 28. Rene Rougeau bagged 18 points.
