Men The upper continuation series of the basketball league began with an exciting game in Kauhajoki, where the leader of the league, Karhu Basket, took the extra time victory 101–98 from Helsinki Seagulls. Taking its tenth consecutive win, Karhu Basket has now won all 12 of their home games this season.
Seagulls dominated the first half, but Bear Basket rose to a meager half-time lead. Cameron Jones scored 28 points for Karhu Basket. Shawn Huff threw 21 points to Seagulls.
KTP-Basket started the upper continuation series victoriously when it took a 90–75 home win from Tampere Pyrinnä. KTP led through the game and stretched the gap to a maximum of 21 points. Lapuan The Cobras cut their seven-game losing streak to start the lower division after winning the Bisons Loimaa 82-70 at home. Opposing were teams that had no wins yet this year.
