Orange weather alert for bad weather, today Wednesday 25 October 2023, for Emilia Romagna and Friuli Venezia Giulia. The arrival of the disturbances with rain and wind triggers the alert for ‘moderate criticality due to hydraulic risk’ in the Piacenza-Parma plain, as announced by the Civil Protection. In Friuli Venezia Giulia, ‘moderate criticality due to hydrogeological risk’ in the Tagliamento and Torre mountain basins.
The wave of bad weather in the next 24 hours triggers a yellow alert in a long list of regions. Hydraulic risk is reported in Calabria, Emilia Romagna, Lombardy, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Tuscany. Alert for hydrogeological risk in Calabria, Umbria, Trentino, Sicily, Liguria, Tuscany, Friuli Venezia Giulia. For thunderstorms, however, alert in Sicily, Puglia, Molise, Lazio, Calabria, Campania, Basilicata.
In the last 24 hours, the bad weather progressively moved from the North towards the other areas of the peninsula. From the Alpine and pre-Alpine areas and from Liguria the rain and gusts of wind also reached the centre, as demonstrated by the violent rainfall that hit Tuscany and Lazio, Rome first and foremost.
The bad weather is linked in particular to the action of the cyclone coming from Iceland. In the next few hours, the bad weather according to forecasts will move towards the East and South. However, the rain will not abandon Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio. Precipitation will move largely to the South: spotlight in particular on Campania.
