The weather on May 1st will be characterized by many clouds, rain and hail in some cases: there are few regions where the sun will shine
A first May dedicated to bad weather this is what is expected for tomorrow in various regions of Italy. In particular, rain and thunderstorms are expected in Rome and Lazio which could cause disruption in all regional areas. The Civil Protection, together with the single Emergency Unit of the Lazio Region, has issued a yellow alert for the next 18-24 hours.
The situation is no better in Campania, where sudden, sudden and intense rains and thunderstorms are expected from mid-day tomorrow until Thursday. The Civil Protection of the region has issued a weather warning notice of yellow level and invites Municipalities to take all necessary measures to deal with adverse weather conditions.
Storm phenomena could cause flooding, rise in hydrometric levels of watercourses, flow of water on road surfaces, runoff with transport of material, rock falls and landslides. A possible fall is reported hail and gusts of wind that could damage temporary structures, public green areas and roofs. Precipitation in Emilia Romagna, while Umbria will only have a sky veiled in clouds.
Sicily will also be affected by a worsening of the weather, with local showers and showers expected. Gradual improvement in conditions expected over the weekend with temperatures decreasing starting Thursday. Temperatures will suffer a slight drop in the far North-West and Sardinia, but will remain above average, with peaks above 25 degrees. The southern winds, in particular the Scirocco, will be moderate on the Tyrrhenian Sea and in Sicily.
However, the Civil Protection invites the Municipal Operations Centers throughout the national territory to adopt measures to prevent, combat and mitigate the foreseen phenomena. The May 1st it will still be influenced by this disturbed passage, with intense rainfall in the North and instability in the Centre-South. Subsequently, between Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd, a second disturbed passage will bring further rainfall and instability, with temperatures that will remain normal.
Bad news therefore for lovers of trips out of town or outdoor barbecues, as we usually celebrate workers Day. If you go out for a walk, put an umbrella in your bag and only travel long stretches of road if really necessary.
