The deputies from Madrid have arrived at Assembly Plenary a few hours after Isabel Diaz Ayuso denounced that Spain “is already a police state with restricted civil rights and where the authorities can monitor the population with little or no judicial supervision.” The atmosphere was heated in a week full of judicial news that affects the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez and Ayuso’s boyfriend, and just when The ‘Begoña commission’ has warmed up with the summons from the parties. In this situation, Ayuso has denounced that the Government wants to “destroy the prestige of a person for having a romantic relationship” with them.
The tension has risen several degrees once again with the question from socialist Juan Lobato. The spokesperson for the PSOE in Madrid has reported that waiting lists have increased by 300,000 people since Ayuso became president. That is why he has accused his opponent of dismantling public health.
Ayuso has stressed that the left has been saying for two or three decades that the PP is going to dismantle public health in Madrid, but always “our hospitals, our staff are pointed out as the best there is right now in Spain and Europe.” “It is not acceptable to always hear the same thing against the work of professionals.”
The regional president has given her version: “If we grow in population, 120,000 people a year, the list increases, the important thing is how long you are on the list and Madrid is the one that manages it best,” she explained. “A Madrid native waits 47 days to undergo surgery, and a Spaniard, on average, 121. Hopefully it will be less and less, but it is reality.”
Lobato has taken the opportunity to suddenly relate the data on the waiting lists with Ayuso’s refusal to meet with Sánchez: «In any private company, these results that you have would put you on the street. I accuse you of not wanting to meet with the President of the Government because you don’t dare. It is an irresponsibility that will always accompany her,” he criticized. “You are very brave for some things but you don’t dare to see the President of the Government.”
“Taking into account that they are in La Moncloa with partners who are incapable of going to the National Holiday, I am not going to whitewash what is happening with the amnesty or the Catalan concert,” Ayuso replied. “Don’t count on me.”
It was with the spokesperson for Más Madrid, Manuela Bergerot, when Ayuso’s boyfriend came to light once again, now for the expenses he wanted to deduct on a shared trip and for the use of the authorities room in Barajas, as well as for the expansion of the judicial investigation. Bergerot has warned the president of the Community of Madrid that her boyfriend “will move forward” and “the whole truth” will be known.
“He does not go to Puerta del Sol to do business, he has Puerta del Sol at home,” Bergerot criticized, after learning that the Investigative Court number 19 of Madrid has expanded the investigation to Alberto González Amador in order to to know if he incurred tax crimes for allegedly using an instrumental company to “hide income” from the Quirón Group.
The president has denounced the “excessive attack” of the Government against “a private citizen”; her boyfriend. «Time proves everyone right. Nobody pays me a penny on my trips, I’m just another citizen when I go outside. But the General Directorate of Police gives us a room (at the airport) for security purposes, where ministers and other authorities also go. They want to destroy the prestige of a person for having a romantic relationship with a politician. As long as there is a rule of law, that is illegal,” he said.
In the midst of the scandals that affect the PSOE and the Government, Ayuso believes that she turns again and again to her boyfriend to try to “cover up”: “Ingots, seven ministries involved, million-dollar plots, bailouts that were forged on the president’s table of the Government. Anyway, ladies and gentlemen, the mountain of corruption is so big that, believe me, a dental floss is not going to cover it.
Ayuso has denounced that the entire apparatus of a government has been put against a private citizen, but he has made it clear that he trusts in Justice and that “time puts everything in its place.”
«Time puts everything in its place. We will talk one by one about each of the reasons that have led this private citizen to have to defend himself against the excessive attack by a government that is organized by different departments to try to destroy his prestige in order to go against a political rival, that this is very Stalinist and is not typical of a democracy.
Ayuso has predicted that the State Attorney General, “among others, will move forward.” «Time proves everyone right. Of course, I can be very calm. Nobody pays me a penny and none of my trips. Any citizen who has crossed paths with me on a plane, in a restaurant, anywhere, knows this, because I am just another citizen when I go out. And this is how each of the witnesses who are with me see it.
