Russian automaker AvtoVAZ has completely suspended car production at all three assembly lines in Togliatti. This was announced on Friday, November 12, “Autostat“.
It is noted that this week the assembly of LADA Granta was carried out only on November 9th. Whereas LADA Largus and XRAY, Renault Logan and Sandero were assembled from November 8 to November 11 inclusive, and for LADA Niva the week was not working, adds “Gazeta.Ru“.
The company, in turn, explained that AvtoVAZ has a “ragged production schedule”, which all manufacturers are exposed to, since the world is currently experiencing a crisis in the supply of auto components. According to the head of the company’s press center, Sergei Ilyinsky, “from time to time something gets up, something starts up”.
At the same time, in a conversation with “RIA News”Said that other industries (in particular, engines, gearboxes, chassis, press production, metallurgy) continue their work according to the standard schedule. The interlocutor of the agency assured that AvtoVAZ is making every effort to normalize the supply of electronic components.
At the same time, the representative of the automaker drew attention to the fact that the global crisis, according to the company, will last at least until the middle of next year or even longer.
Earlier, on November 10, the manufacturer announced that it monitors the supply situation on a daily basis, depending on which the line production schedule is built. The press service of the company stressed that they do not expect a quick resolution of the problem yet.
Assembly at AvtoVAZ has been working intermittently since June 2021. This is due to problems with the supply of electronic components from Robert Bosch Samara, which in turn is experiencing difficulties in working with its suppliers.
