The Local Government of Avilés will present to the deliberation of the municipal plenary session a proposal for tax ordinances for 2025 that contemplates the freezing of taxes and the update to 5% in some rates and prices without variation since 2019, in addition to the creation of a new rate tour.
Within the framework of the government agreement between the PSOE and Cambia Avilés, a new tourist tax will be proposed once the Principality finalizes the regulations it is developing, since the government team considers that “it is a way for tourism to contribute to the maintenance of the resources that the city has,” he explained this Friday in a note.
According to the government formed by the PSOE and Cambia Avilés, the update of some rates and prices is “significantly lower” than the increase in the cost of services since 2019, whose accumulated CPI has been 18.5%.
The water and sewage rates will be updated, according to the proposal, in accordance with the management document, by 2.4% (August CPI), while the receipt for the solid waste collection service will increase by 1.05 euros per month.
The prices for parking in the Plaza de España and La Expósito car parks are updated by 5%, while that of Cuba Street remains unchanged due to its service to small local businesses.
In addition, the Local Government has proposed the instruction of a new fee for the celebration of civil marriages.
The Finance and Human Resources Commission will rule on the modification of the Tax Ordinances for 2025 on October 23.
The Government team’s proposal will be submitted for approval at the municipal plenary session on October 28.
