The change in leadership of Porsche’s Chinese division announced yesterday generated a further chain managerial change, the one at the top of the European sales division of the Audi brand. Yesterday, in fact, Porsche announced the appointment that will take effect from June 1 of Michael Kirsch as the new president and CEO of its Chinese division: the 56-year-old will replace Jens Puttfarcken, who will not leave the VW group, however, as he will change his position as the new head of Audi sales in Europe.
Puttfarcken, whose appointment will be effective from 1 June exactly as in the case of Kirsch, will take the place of Martin Sander, who left the carmaker of the four rings to oversee Ford of Europe’s passenger car division. Puttfarcken’s most recent professional career always took place within Porsche: before captaining the Chinese division of the German brand, in fact, he was head of sales of the brand for Germany, from 2015 to 2018. Before that, however, He has held various positions in customer relationship management and after-sales assistance at Porsche. Now for him one promises new adventure driving Audi in Europea market that in 2021 was the second largest globally for the house of the four rings, behind only China.
