The Spanish Society of Oncology will investigate cost reduction practices: «Well zobes in no case limits the freedom of prescription of the option”
ATRES Health-Bienzobas has made public a statement on Monday in which it reaffirms to deny that performs pressure tactics on oncologists to try to reduce the prescription of the most expensive treatments. The company reacts like this after the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology (SEOM) communicated the beginning of an investigation into the practices of this company, after the revelations published exclusively by this newspaper.
In his statement, Atrys ensures that “the final decision of the prescription is always of the optional that is treating the patient and not of good zoobas, regardless of the recommendation issued,” in what it means to recognize, at least, that his advisors issue therapeutic recommendations to doctors. “Well zobes in no case denies one or the other treatment, the final prescription decision is always of the optional,” he insists.
The company chaired by Santiago de Torres also ensures that it performs its oncological advice work to private insurers who decide to hire it “following international clinical guides, national and international medicine evaluation agencies, and the therapeutic positioning reports of the Ministry of Health.”
According to Pie Bienzobas, his work “is based on the beginning of the WHO that advocates the rational use of the medication”: “that patients receive appropriate drugs for their clinical needs, at doses adjusted to their particular situation, during an adequate period of time and to the minimum possible cost for them and for the community.” In this line, it relies on the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) “affirms that sustainability is a key element of oncological care, and for this, it has developed the scale of magnitude of the clinical benefit.”
