Porto – Atletico Madrid
A draw would have been enough for Porto to finish second behind Liverpool. However, the Portuguese played offensively and had plenty of opportunities. Striker Mehdi Taremi in particular, however, killed a number of great opportunities. Atlético limited themselves to defending, but took the lead out of nowhere after an hour of play.
A corner was headed through and at the far post Antoine Griezmann was there like the chickens to walk in the opening goal. From that moment, Atlético played exactly the kind of game it likes, but ten minutes later it was suddenly with ten men on the field. Yannick Carrasco was challenged and received a direct red card.
However, Porto could not enjoy the ascendancy for long. Three minutes later, Wendell also received an easily given red card on behalf of Porto. The game got completely out of hand for a while and was halted for a long time. When football resumed, Porto still had 20 minutes to do something about the deficit. However, it was Atlético that ended the game after a counterattack.
Angel Correa completed the counterattack with a slide into the long corner and not much later Rodrigo de Pau even made it 0-3. In the 96th minute, Sergio Oliveira made it 1-3 with a penalty, but the game had long been decided. Porto has to settle for third place and can continue in the Europa League after the winter.
AC Milan – Liverpool
AC Milan knew it was a hell of a job. The Italians had to beat title favorite Liverpool to have a chance at the next round. After half an hour, Milan seemed well on the way to a stunt. Tomori tapped in the 1-0 from close range and brought San Siro into ecstasy.
From that moment on, however, Liverpool showed why they have been one of the best teams in Europe for years. Salah made a first dent in Milan’s faith with a nice goal and after the break Divock Origi threw the whole thing into the lock. It became 1-2 and with that Milan is ready in Europe. Liverpool advance to the eighth finals as group winners.

Real Madrid through as group winner
Madrid will go to the draw for the eighth finals of the Champions League as group winners. The leader from the Spanish league defeated Internazionale on Tuesday in the final group match, which was also certain of a sequel in the most important European club competition. It was 2-0.
Toni Kroos put Real in the lead after more than fifteen minutes of play. The German midfielder hit the bottom right corner with a left. Denzel Dumfries only participated in the first half at Inter. The Dutch defender got into a fight with Vinícius Júnior in the 24th minute, who easily dropped in the penalty area in a duel with Dumfries. The referee did not fall for it.
It took until well into the second half that the score fell 2-0. That goal was beautiful. Marco Asensio shot the ball into the goal from the edge of the box with his left leg, through the inside of the post. Inter was already on the field with one man less at that time after Nicolò Barella was red.
Stefan de Vrij was again part of the Inter selection after an injury. The former Feyenoord player remained on the reserve bench. Shakhtar Donetsk drew in the other group match against FC Sheriff (1-1). Sheriff goes as number 3 to the intermediate round of the Europa League and Shakhtar is eliminated.

Malen in Champions League again accurate for Dortmund
Donyell Malen scored again on Tuesday for Borussia Dortmund. The Orange international opened the score in the last group match of the Champions League against Besiktas (5-0) after half an hour of play. Malen was also accurate in the previous round against Sporting Portugal and he also scored twice in the last three competition matches.
Malen received the ball from Jude Bellingham. The attacker shot the ball with the left through keeper Ersin Destanoglu into the goal (1-0). Marco Reus doubled the lead in injury time of the first half by using a penalty kick.
Reus also managed to make the 3-0 in the 53rd minute, after a good combination. Substitute Erling Haaland headed in the 4-0 halfway through the second half. Haaland then scored again with his head, from a corner. Malen participated in the entire game at Dortmund. Besiktas played with one man less from the 43rd minute after a red card for Brazilian Welinton.
The duel was no longer of great importance. Borussia Dortmund could no longer finish second in the group of Ajax and will advance as number 3 to an intermediate round in the Europa League. The scoreless Besiktas is ready for this season in Europe.
