Finland the number one star of athletics Wilma Murto tried to set a Finnish record of 486 in the Valentine's Day pole vault at Turku's Gatorade Center. Murto won the Turku race overwhelmingly.

Murto had secured the victory of the Turku race with two jumps, as he exceeded both 450 and 462 with his first. After this, Murto exceeded 474 – again with his first. From the record height of 486, Murto made good attempts.

The Finnish indoor track record 481 is also in the name of Murro himself. He jumped it in January in Kuortane. Murro also holds the Finnish outdoor track record 485.

In Turku, Canada placed second Alysha Newman and third placed Greece Eléni-Klaoúdia Pólak both exceeded 450.

Remember Finns Saga Andersson jumped 435 and was sixth. Maria Kytölä and Silja Andersson remained at 400. The positions were eighth and ninth. Nine jumpers participated in the competition.
