Athletics | Wilma Murto attempted a Finnish record – finished in the top three in a tough competition

The new SE for women's pole vault remained a dream, at least for now.

European champion and last summer's World Cup bronze medalist Wilma Murto continued his reign on Saturday in Lievin, France. Murto finished tied for second place in the competition with a score of 475.

The competition was won by Eliza McCartney from New Zealand with a result of 484. Murto shared second place with a British jumper of Molly Caudery with.

Canada too Alysha Newman exceeded 475, but he fell from the lower heights once, unlike Murto and Caudery.

Burglary after crossing 475, attempted the Finnish indoor track record 484 times and then raised the bar to 490 more. That resulted in two falls.

The Finnish indoor track record 481 is held by Murro himself. He jumped it in January in Kuortane. Murro also holds the Finnish outdoor track record 485.

Murro's season continues on Valentine's Day, February 14, in the Valentine's Day pole vault competition in Turku.
