Savona – Two great Italian records in a minute and a half, an Under 20 world record: it’s a sensational Italian athletics at the Savona Meeting 23 days before the European Championships in Rome 2024. The historic Italian weight record falls, thanks to a monstrous Leonardo Fabbri who with 22.95 exceeds the legendary 22 by four centimeters after 37 years, 91 of the Olympic champion Alessandro Andrei and becomes the fifth in history in the world and the second European of all time, as well as confirming himself as the seasonal world leader. The Italian 100 meters record was also broken in the women’s category with a fantastic 11.02 by Zaynab Dosso (+0.9 the wind), after the 11.12 of the heat (+1.4) with which she had already exceeded by two hundredths the previous record (11.14) which she had held since last year together with Manuela Levorato. Mattia Furlani enters the history of long running with the under 20 world record of 8.36 (+1.4): improved by one centimeter from the 8.35 of the Russian Sergey Morgunov in 2012.
