The man who attempted to hijack the plane in Sochi was in an inadequate condition. This was reported on Tuesday, April 23, by the press service of the city’s air harbor.
“The passenger, who had passed the pre-flight inspection and did not have prohibited items with him, however, being in an inadequate condition, entered the apron by breaking open the emergency door. He ran on board a Rossiya Airlines aircraft,” the press service told Izvestia.
The airport added that transport security and police officers managed to quickly detain the offender.
Earlier that day, it was reported that during preparations for departure of the Sochi-St. Petersburg flight, before passengers began boarding, a stranger with a bag appeared on board and attempted to hijack the plane. A Moscow resident born in 1992 reported that the bag was mined. Initially, he was supposed to fly to the capital on another airline.
The plane was further inspected and is preparing to take off. Initially, it was supposed to depart from Sochi at 16:25.
