With the theme “Ease every way”, Hyundai enters CES 2024 underlining its commitment to driving human-centered innovations with hydrogen energy, software and artificial intelligence. At the Las Vegas Convention Center the Korean group – which plans to purchase 3 million tons of hydrogen per year by 2035 – then presents the HTWO solution for the hydrogen value chain which includes production, storage, transport and use and reveals details on the development of a megawatt-scale PEM electrolyser for green hydrogen production and on methods of producing hydrogen through resource circulation.
Hyundai Motor Group has already announced its commitment to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, supported by the clear RE100 roadmap which includes the use of 100% renewable energy in its factories abroad by 2045 and in every single facility of the Group by 2050. Hydrogen energy will play a leading role in achieving these goals.
Hyundai then introduces the “Software-Defined Everything” (SDx) strategy by redefining vehicles, fleets and transportation systems through software and artificial intelligence. In particular, the brand plans to create Software Defined Vehicles (SDV) by incorporating software development methods into the study of new models and aims to expand software solutions for the management of company fleets, offering personalized services and real-time data analysis. At the end of this transition, in Hyundai's vision, users, devices and cities will all be interconnected so that mobility understood as transportation-as-a-service is open to all.
“At Hyundai, we believe that science and humanity are two sides of the same coin; that advanced technology should also improve people's lives,” said Jay Chang, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company. “Clean hydrogen should be for everyone, to power everything, and available everywhere.”
