In the future of Aston Martin Italy may play a bigger role than you might think. The numbers of the growth of the British brand in our country are eloquent from this point of view: in 2023 Aston Martin sales on the Italian market increased by 54%, compared to a +38% for the European market as a whole. Data in hand, in fact, the Italian one has become the third most important market for Aston Martin at a continental level.
Italian growth
Word of Andreas Bareis, Regional President of Aston Martin Europe, who spoke during the presentation of the new Vantage at the Officine del Volo, in Milan, which we attended yesterday afternoon. The steps taken by Aston Martin in the direction of Italy have been different and gradual: the range has been expanded over the months and a new dealership opened in Bologna at the end of last year, just to name a few. Pieces which, put one after the other, allow the Gaydon car manufacturer to also look towards 2024 with optimism.
The new Vantage
As mentioned, the real queen of yesterday's Milanese afternoon was the new one Vantage, which we had already met on the web and which we were able to admire live for the first time. This sports car, whose first deliveries have been confirmed for the second quarter of this year, has been renewed from several points of view, above all the motoring one: powering the new Vantage is a completely updated 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 capable of releasing over 655 HP of peak power and 800 Nm of overall torque, for an increase in specifications of more than 150 HP and 115 Nm compared to to the model we know today.
More power than ever
In particular, the engineers of the British brand have worked on a series of changes to the V8 cam profiles and several optimizations made to the compression ratios, the fitment of larger turbochargers and an improved cooling system. In combination with this V8 a 8-speed ZF automatic transmissionwhich is coupled to rear-wheel drive allows the new Vantage to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in around 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 325 km/h.
The exteriors are renewed
Also revised is the design. At the front, the size of the grille has been increased, flanked by Matrix LED headlights not dissimilar to those of the DB12, while at the rear the bumper is now wider, just as the exhaust terminals are larger. Part of the joke about the color range for the livery: three specific available shades have been added to the standard paint options. A look also at the interior: The dashboard has been redesigned and now includes a new 10.25″ infotainment system adorned with some physical buttons and switches.
