After a couple of RPG-focused installments, Assassin's Creed Mirage returned to the stealth routes of the series, something that was liked by the public. Although the Ubisoft property will continue to grow with new proposals, It seems that the developers are not closing the door on a new game starring Basim.
Basim, whom we first saw in Assassin's Creed: Valhallawas selected to star Mirage. While the story of this installment has come to an end, and there are no plans for any type of DLC, The developers have made it clear that they do not rule out the possibility of seeing another installment starring this character. This was what Stéphane Boudon, creative director of Mirageabout:
“We are excited by the reception of Mirage. Mirage has been designed as a standalone experience without any DLC plans.
We have ideas about how we could expand Basim's story, surely. But as of today, there is no post-launch content planned. “We have no plans for a major new update, but we will continue to monitor the game and listen to player feedback.”
In this way, it is not ruled out that we see a sequel to Assassin's Creed: Mirage starring Basim in the future, which made this character one of the few assassins who take the lead role in more than one installment.. However, considering that projects like Hexe and Jade are in development, it is likely that this idea will not be considered for the time being.
We just have to see what will happen to Basim in the future.. On related topics, Assassin's Creed: Hexe It would be a horror game. Similarly, Assassin's Creed Jade has been delayed until 2025.
Author's Note:
It's strange that Basim is chosen to star in more than one Assassin's Creed game, especially considering his antagonistic role in Valhalla. However, many could consider him a modern Ezio, since he brought back the series' traditional formula with Mirage.
