Ubisoft has several great games of Assassin’s Creed in development right now, but none of these titles are set during the Aztec Empire, says the trusted Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier.
Earlier this week, rumors surfaced that a new Assassin’s Creed game would be set in the Aztec empire, but Schreier is adamant he hasn’t heard of such a project. He has confirmed that the next Assassin’s Creed game will be set in Baghdad instead.
“They would be bizarre time travel scams if Basim went to the Aztec Empire. The next Assassin’s Creed game is Rift, which is set in Baghdad“, he wrote on the forum of ResetEra. “I’ve also heard of the two main games being developed as part of Assassin’s Creed Infinity, and neither is Aztec. Maybe there is some super secret spinoff in production somewhere, but I haven’t heard of them!“.
Assassin’s Creed Rift was supposed to be a DLC for Valhalla, but Ubisoft has decided to turn it into a full game, which will have a smaller range and focus on stealth gameplay. Anyway in September Ubisoft will hold its event and we will probably hear about the new chapter at that juncture.
