On the occasion of the celebratory event of the fifteen years of Assassin’s CreedUbisoft announced Codename Jadethe first Assassin’s Creed open world made specifically for mobile devices and set in China. The announcement was accompanied by an official trailer, which you can view in the player below.
The project was unveiled by Marc-Alexis Côté, the creative director of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and producer of Odyssey. According to him, Codename Jade will present all the gameplay mechanics characteristic of the series, but specially optimized for iOS and Android mobile devices and the use of touch screen controls.
As we can see from the first official trailer, Codename Jade is set in the Ancient China of 215 BC. Côté also revealed that it will be the first game in the series in which players will be able to create their own character.
For the moment, no further details have been revealed, including the release date. In any case, the words “coming soon” at the end of the trailer suggests that we won’t have to wait long to find out more details on this ambitious project from the French publisher.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the new chapter set in Baghdad and the expansion Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: The Last Chapter, were also presented during the Ubisoft Forward.
