Seedy Eye Software and Limited Run Games finally launched Arzette: The Jewel of Faramorethe spiritual sequel to the Ugly Zeldas for CD-i, namely Link: The Faces of Evil and Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon. To celebrate the happy event, a new trailer has been published, with new gameplay sequences.
Arzette's story is decidedly particular, given that it was born from the cult of the two aforementioned titles, considered the dark past of the Zelda series, released on a failing console, in a time in which Nintendo was less reluctant than today to license its intellectual properties. The two games in these have become cult objects in particular for the horrendous interlude animations and the monstrous dubbing, all characteristics that Arzette proudly inherits, while greatly improving the part played. There's also the hideous controller, if you want.
Praise
Despite the strangeness of the operation, or perhaps precisely because of this, Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore is receiving a lot of praise from gamers, who on Steam they gave it 97% positive reviews.
The review by user RogueViolet explains the appreciation of many towards the game, in which we can read: “In an era in which AAA developers rely heavily on cheap nostalgia to sell their games, Arzette emerges like a gem in the desert, because it not only takes us back to our childhood, but shows us an understanding of why it was so special to us.”
Before leaving you, we remind you that Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore is available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.
