ARTIEM reaffirms its commitment to sustainable development for another year with the presentation of its 2023 Positive Impact Report. In the 2023 Positive Impact Report, key initiatives that reinforce this commitment are highlighted, such as B Corp recertification and the raising of more than 200,000 euros through its “Solidarity Room”, which has increased to 300,000 euros in 2024. In addition , the ARTIEM Positive Impact System continues to be an essential guide to achieving goals in sustainability and well-being. ARTIEM is the first hotel chain in Europe to obtain this B Corp certification, which promotes a new business model based on a more equitable, inclusive and regenerative economy. This recognition reinforces its desire to be one of the best hotels in the world and is in line with its purpose of inspiring happiness in people.
Milestones 2023
In this new Positive Impact Report, ARTIEM shows its measures to improve its economic impact, based on the transparency of its operations; and its social impact, focused on the creation of quality employment and the promotion of equity and inclusivity. Regarding environmental actions, the following stand out:
-Reduce the CO2 Footprint: The company’s objective is to achieve carbon footprint neutrality (scope I and II) in 2030.
-Responsible management of the water cycle: ARTIEM, among other measures, eliminates softeners, avoiding waste of up to 300 m³ annually and installs micro-filtered water fountains in its hotels.
-Circular economy: ARTIEM prioritizes the purchase of environmentally certified products and uses certified cotton uniforms and manufactures aprons locally; In addition, it organizes charity markets to give a second life to materials and promotes the reuse of furniture in its renovations.
-Conscious eating: ARTIEM promotes the “APORTAM” project to promote conscious eating that benefits the planet, health and local communities. It prioritizes products with low environmental impact, encourages the consumption of local foods and improves the gastronomic offer in its facilities, including more plant-based protein options. In addition, it focuses on communication and transparency about healthy eating to raise awareness among people who work and stay at ARTIEM.
