Arrival window confirmed for ad-supported Netflix subscription

Netflix He has given much to talk about with the latest decisions he has made, this includes charging for sharing accounts and also for the gradual price increases that people do not like. To combat the lack of membership, they have mentioned that they are going to incorporate commercials to provide cheaper access and now there is a possible date.

This is what they commented through a recent letter:

Our lower priced ad-supported offering will complement our existing plans, which will remain ad-free. Our global ARM has grown at a CAGR of 5% between 2013 and 2021, so it now makes sense to offer consumers a lower priced option with ads, if they so choose.

In addition, they comment on the alliance they are having with microsoft to incorporate the commercials:

They are investing heavily to expand their multi-million dollar premium TV video advertising business, and we are delighted to be working with such a strong global partner. We’re excited about the opportunity given the combination of our highly engaged audience and high-quality content, which we believe will drive premium CPM from brand advertisers.

We’ll probably start in a handful of markets where ad spend is significant. Like most of our new initiatives, our intention is to implement it, listen and learn, and quickly iterate to improve the offering. So our advertising business in a few years will probably look quite different than it does on day one.

This new subscription will launch in early 2023. There is no release date yet, but some Latin American markets have already been able to test it.
