A man, whose age is unknown, tried to rob the 24-hour tobacconist in the Plaza Circular in Murcia this Sunday afternoon, an event in which he took two of the business's workers hostage. The thief showed up at the store with a large ham knife, with the intention of taking the money from the cash register. At that time, only the two employees were inside the ground floor, a 30-year-old boy and another 20-year-old girl, who was injured by a cut on her arm, but without major consequences.
The event occurred around four in the afternoon, in one of the busiest areas of the capital. The robber, at a certain point, chose to equip himself in the tobacconist's shop with the two employees. The worker was the first to escape from the premises, while the girl was unable to mislead the thief at first and she was threatened by the subject, who placed the knife on her neck. The presence of the National Police and Local Police patrols outside, who quickly arrived alerted by neighbors and passers-by, made the robber even more nervous.
Finally, the young woman was able to escape from the premises with a minor wound to her arm, which was treated by the health workers who came to this point in the Circular plaza. The robber, for his part, was finally arrested by agents of the National Police. Sources consulted highlight that the thief, after being arrested, tried to harm himself by hitting his head against the windows of the patrol car, where he was introduced by the agents.
