This condemnation comes after the Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado spread a message on her networks in which the international affairs coordinator of her party, Pedro Urruchurtu, denounced the “siege” of the aforementioned Embassyin which he is located.
“Urgent! November 23. 06:42PM. Hooded officials of the DAET (Directorate of Strategic and Tactical Actions) with long weapons once again besiege the residence of the Argentine Embassy in Caracas. They surround the diplomatic headquarters and block street access,” published Urruchurtu, who later added that the DAET and the SEBIN (Bolivarian National Intelligence Service) have blocked the mobile signal and are flying over the building with drones.
For his part, the secretary general of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro, has described this sentence as “unacceptable”.
“The harassment to which the dictatorship in Venezuela subjects the Argentine Embassy in Caracas is contrary to International Law. The harassment must stop immediately and the right to asylum of opponents of the dictatorship must be guaranteed,” the head of the OAS stressed.
Machado calls for a “huge protest” for December 1
The Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado has called this Saturday a massive protest “inside and outside” the country to call for the “liberation of Venezuela” before January 10, the constitutionally scheduled date for the inauguration of the new Government.
“It is up to us to lead this process and ensure that all actors do their part. We are planning a huge protest this December 1st. They ask us what we will do on January 10. No, January 10 is today! January 10 is a redemption movement for the liberation of Venezuela!, the opposition member expressed during a digital meeting.
With this purpose, Machado has urged “all actors inside and outside the country” to “do their part” and act “with all clarity and intelligence”, always in accordance with the “just plan” that the opposition has “designed and followed with discipline.” “That’s why we are where we are,” he added.
The former presidential candidate has stressed that “the time is today”, pointing out that “we are seeing a regime that is fracturing, that has real contradictions, tensions and divisions.”
Along the same lines, Machado has pointed out that, although not all of these tensions are evident, they are there and are leading the Government of the current president, Nicolás Maduro, to “a process of decomposition” derived from “its cruelty, its corruption and its harshness.”
Faced with this reality, the opposition has presented herself as the visible face of a movement built around “the values of human dignity, kindness, solidarity and Justice”. “The 10th concentrates all this that we have built, this movement of redemption for the liberation of Venezuela, to bring our families back, to reunite with our children, to build a country of which we are going to feel super proud,” he concluded. .
