Javier Milei's government said it detected registration irregularities; measure suspends payment of 2 billion Argentine pesos
The government of Argentine President Javier Milei announced this Saturday (20 January 2024) that it will remove 27,208 people from the list of beneficiaries of social programs Enhance Work (enhance work, in free translation from Spanish) and Boost Employment (boosting employment, in free translation from Spanish). The measure suspends the payment of 2 billion Argentine pesos (around R$12 million at current exchange rates). According to the Ministry of Human Capital, led by Minister Sandra Pettovello, irregularities were identified in the registration of these beneficiaries, who did not meet the necessary requirements to receive money from the programs.
