But let's see all the information together in detail.
Plot
In 1985, in Amnesty Bay, Maine, lighthouse keeper Thomas Curry meets a woman who introduces herself by the name of Atlanna. She the latter is the queen of Atlantis, and she escaped it to avoid marrying Orvax, future king of Atlantis. Thomas and Atlanna fall in love, get married and give birth to a son, Arthur Curry. One day the three are attacked by Atlantean guards, who want to take Atlanna away. After the battle, from which they emerge victorious, Atlanna is forced to flee, leaving Arthur in the hands of her father.
In the present, immediately after the battle against Steppenwolf and his army, Arthur continues his life and his fight against crime under anonymity. One day, Arthur faces a group of pirates attempting to hijack a Russian nuclear submarine. After engaging in a fight with David Kane and his father Jesse Kane, the latter gets stuck under a missile. After asking his son to save himself and leave the submarine about to sink, Jesse commits suicide by exploding a grenade and David then vows revenge. In the evening, while leaving a pub with his father, Arthur is joined by Mera, met during the battle against Steppenwolf, who asks him to go with her to Atlantis. Arthur refuses, as he considers the Atlanteans responsible for the death of her mother, executed due to her betrayal of her, so he turns his back on Mera and walks away from her.
Driving home, Arthur and Thomas are overwhelmed by a tsunami and the latter is saved only thanks to the timely intervention of Mera, who is certain that it is not a natural disaster but is the work of the evil Orm, Arthur's half-brother and king of Atlantis. Hearing this, Arthur finally decides to go to Atlantis with Mera to save the two worlds, human and underwater. Arriving in a hidden place, Aquaman and Mera meet Nuidis Vulko, Arthur's old friend who trained him to fight as a young man: the two ask Arthur to help them stop Orm, born from the union of his mother and Orvax, who together King Nereus, king of Xebel and father of Mera, wants to declare war on the human world. Vulko gives the two a map that he found some time ago, which shows the location of the Holy Trident of Atlan, the first king of Atlantis, hidden for a long time and which may prove to be the key to defeating Orm, being able to confer control on the seven seas. Shortly afterwards, however, the Atlantean guards in the service of Orm, who fears that Arthur's existence will cause him to lose his throne, arrive and attack them. Mera and Vulko manage to escape, but Arthur is defeated and arrested.
