Apple has presented the new iPad mini with an 8.3-inch screen, A17 Pro processor and compatibility with the Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence (AI) function system, which we remember will not reach the European Union for now.
The novelty of this iPad is in its guts, in the A17 Pro chip, which promises to be twice as fast as the previous generation of the iPad mini. The chip enables technologies that drive a hyper-realistic gaming experience, such as hardware-accelerated ray tracing, dynamic caching, and hardware-accelerated mesh shading.
Additionally, this generation of iPad mini is compatible with the Apple Pencil Pro stylus, and features an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display with True Tone technology. It also has a 12-megapixel wide-angle rear camera with HDR Intelligence for more natural photos.
Likewise, it has iOS 18 integrated, which takes advantage of the Neural Engine to boost the AI performance on the device, also making it compatible with Apple Intelligencewhile Private Cloud Computing allows adapting and expanding computing capacity between on-device processing and larger models based on specific servers with Apple chips.
The first features of Apple Intelligence will be available in October in US English as a free iPadOS 18.1 software update for iPad with A17 Pro or M1 chip and later models.
The new iPad mini can be found in space gray, purple, blue and star white, and has a price starting at 599 euros for the model with 128 GB of storage. It will be available starting Wednesday, October 23.
