You can't pretend nothing happened. With these words Fiorello on Viva Rai2, in tears, remembers the victims of Suviana, where a hydroelectric power plant exploded
“You can't pretend nothing happened”: these are the words by Fiorello on Viva Rai2 who cries live, visibly moved by the victims of Suviana. In the hydroelectric power plant in Emilia Romagna several people died and others were injured or missing following a sudden explosion that left them with no escape. A news story that cannot be ignored, even in an entertainment program like that of the Sicilian showman.
The power plant of Enel Green Power of Suviana suffered an accident that shocked the whole of Italy. The toll, unfortunately still provisional, is three dead, four missing and five seriously injured due to the burns reported.
The searches have continued since the early afternoon of Tuesday 9 April, when a fire caused an explosion which, however, did not cause damage to the dam to which the power plant is connected. Rescuers complain, however, that it is not easy to work in the structure, which is located below the water level.
Fiorello closed the today's episode of Viva Rai 2 to remember what happened to Suviana. He knows well that his is a program dedicated to good mood, to start every day in the best possible way. This morning, however, there is only room for mourning and dismay.
“Bad things happen every day, including yesterday's tragedy in the hydroelectric plant where people, workers, died. We always talk about job security, but apparently it's never enough. We know what happens in the world, we would like to give good humor and sometimes we even succeed, but with death in our hearts. We cannot pretend nothing has happened and remain insensitive when things like these happen, the tragedy in Suviana, because working people should always be protected.”

The showman was moved by what happened to Suviana and decided to demonstrate his closeness with a personal version of General by Francesco De Gregoricreated by Luca Tommassini with his dancers.
Fiorello then makes a reflection, underlining that perfection does not exist. However, every time something like this happens to a worker we ask ourselves questions and promise that it will never happen again. Instead, it always happens, again.
